Government Scholarships Programme Paraguay BECAL-DAAD Master

The Government Scholarships Programme Paraguay BECAL-DAAD Master provides funding for Paraguayan graduates to complete a master's degree in Germany. The program is a cooperation between the Paraguayan Ministry of Finance and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Scholarships support master's programs at German universities and, where appropriate, in conjunction with non-university research institutions. The funding has a maximum duration of twenty-four months and includes comprehensive support for language preparation and living expenses. DAAD covers costs including an intensive German course in Germany for up to six months, accommodation and allowance during the German course, and health, care, casualty, and personal liability insurance during the funding period. The Paraguayan Ministry of Finance covers flight costs from Paraguay to Germany and back, tuition fees up to a maximum of 10,000 EUR, monthly living expenses of 1,300 EUR, a research allowance of 450 EUR per year, and a one-off payment of 450 EUR for the return to Paraguay. Selection is based on above-average performances during previous studies, and applications must be submitted exclusively through the online portal of the Paraguayan Ministry of Finance.
