About This Opportunity

The Gowling WLG Life Sciences, Society, and the Law student scholarship was created to support the next generation of legal leaders who are thinking critically about advances in the life sciences and the legal frameworks that will shape what comes next. The firm's $5,000 annual scholarship is awarded to the law student who authors the most distinguished paper examining the relationship between the life sciences and society through the legal lens. The scholarship is offered in connection with Gowling WLG's annual Life Sciences, Society, and the Law Symposium. In addition to the $5,000 scholarship award, the successful applicant will be invited to participate in the symposium and recognized across Gowling WLG's various channels, providing a platform to showcase their work to a broader life sciences audience. The winning paper will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the annual symposium in fall 2026. Gowling WLG gratefully acknowledges the leadership and generous funding contribution from Bayer Inc., whose contribution helps foster broader interest in life sciences law and highlights the opportunities available to students considering a career in this dynamic sector.
