Göran Gustafsson Prize for Young Researchers

About This Opportunity

The Göran Gustafsson Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific Research at Uppsala University and Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) offers prizes to young researchers. Two types of prizes are available: a three-year prize ("stora priset") providing 3.75 million SEK distributed over three years (1.25 million per year), and a one-year prize ("lilla priset") providing a one-time payment of 1.25 million SEK. The foundation supports research in human biology at Uppsala University, preferably with clinical relevance, and research in technical physics at KTH and Uppsala University, and related subject areas. The prizes may be used relatively freely for research, but not for the researcher's own salary. Recipients must be employed at the institution where the funds will be managed and meet age restrictions. The foundation emphasizes that the concepts of technical and clinical relevance should not be interpreted so narrowly that the principle of promoting basic research is disregarded.
