Grants for Charities and Community Groups

The Harpur Trust provides grants to local charities and community groups in Bedford Borough that run projects to improve lives. The Trust awards more than £1 million a year in grants, having awarded over £11 million in the last 10 years. Projects must align with one or more charitable objects: education, relief of poverty/sickness/distress, or recreation with a social welfare purpose. The Trust considers requests for staffing, running, and capital costs for projects and core services. Multi-year or repeat funding is available based on clear evidence of need and impact. Organizations must be registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CIC) Ltd by Guarantee, or other non-profit organizations with appropriate governing documents and at least three unrelated committee members/trustees/directors.
