About this opportunity
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation Patricia Smith Wilmeth Scholarship is awarded to degree-seeking undergraduate students who have achieved sophomore status and are pursuing a course of study leading to a career related to science, the environment, or education. The scholarship provides $8,000 in financial support to eligible students who demonstrate financial need and maintain a cumulative GPA greater than 2.5. Recipients must be Wisconsin residents.
Preference is given to students from Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, or Waukesha Counties, as well as returning students who started a degree program, experienced an interruption in their education, and are now returning to complete their degree. Additional preference is given to students whose education has been interrupted in order to provide care for family members (including children or elders) or whose time away from higher education included significant volunteer community service.
This scholarship recognizes and supports students pursuing careers that contribute to science, environmental stewardship, or education while overcoming financial and personal challenges. The scholarship is administered through the UW-Milwaukee Panther Scholarship Portal.
