About This Opportunity

Green and Gold Scholarships for Nonresidents are merit-based scholarships awarded to eligible incoming freshman (first-year) students who are not residents of Colorado. These highly competitive awards are automatically considered based on the student's application for admission—no additional scholarship application is required. The scholarships are tiered based on academic achievement, with GPA ranges determining award amounts. Students who are eligible can receive up to $16,000 per year (half paid each fall and spring semester). These scholarships can be renewed for up to eight semesters, meaning students could earn up to $64,000 over the course of four years. Award amounts range from $4,000 to $16,000 per year depending on cumulative GPA, covering between 11% and 44% of tuition and fees. To qualify, students must be incoming freshmen, not classify as Colorado residents, demonstrate a GPA of 3.2 or above, be admitted to a full-time degree-seeking program on CSU's main campus, and submit a complete application by the stated deadlines. The scholarship cannot be combined with certain other CSU awards including the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) award, Native American Legacy Award, or GI Promise programs.
