About this opportunity
This bursary is provided in memory of a former student, instructor and paramedic, Gregory Siver, who completed his practicum after a second cancer diagnosis and while undergoing chemotherapy. As a paramedic he loved mentoring students, instilling in them his passion for the work as well as his compassion for all patients. He was often called on to mentor students who were known to be struggling. Whether as a practitioner, an educator or a friend, he was consistent in his commitment to integrity, honesty and compassion. He touched the lives of countless students, co-workers and patients throughout his 20 years career.
The award is available to continuing students enrolled in the Advanced Care Paramedic program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of satisfactory academic achievement in the previous semester of the program and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership within the classroom, initiative and compassion for others. Students must submit an application to be considered for this award.
