About this opportunity

The Grow Wild Community Programme supports groups to transform urban spaces for the benefit of people and wildlife. The programme seeks 23 groups from across the UK to join in 2026. Successful applicants receive a £2000 grant to transform an urban space with UK native plants or fungi, support wildlife and involve their local community. Groups also receive access to online knowledge sharing sessions to connect with other groups and get support from experts including special guests from Kew. A £500 follow-on grant for spring 2027 is available to support ongoing activities, subject to optional application once the project is underway. The programme encourages groups of all experience levels and welcomes applications from first time growers. Projects must focus on UK native plants or fungi, have high potential to enhance local biodiversity, provide clear ways for local people to get meaningfully involved, and benefit at least 300 people. Priority is given to projects in communities experiencing higher levels of deprivation and ensuring a wide geographic spread across the UK.
