About this opportunity
Grow Wild on the Railway is a new partnership between Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and Grow Wild, supporting ten youth-led projects at stations along the Southern Railway route of the GTR network. Young people aged 18-25 living locally to participating stations (Bexhill, Brighton, Burgess Hill, East Croydon, Haywards Heath, Hove, Lewes, Ore, Redhill, Salfords) are invited to lead projects championing UK native plants and fungi. Working alongside station partner groups, participants will create projects that could include artistic installations, community events, or gardening activities. Projects must involve the wider community, benefit others, and run between August-December 2025. Each successful applicant receives a £500 grant for materials, equipment, resources, or training, plus support from their station partner group, online sessions and resources from Grow Wild, and opportunities to connect with other participants. There is also an additional £500 available from Grow Wild for station partner groups to support installation costs. Applications closed on August 4, 2025.
