About this opportunity

The G.S. Caird Scholarship in Science Coursework is a coursework scholarship valued at $20,000 that provides financial support to coursework students in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. Established in 2025 in commemoration of Mr G.S. Caird, this scholarship supports students from diverse backgrounds enrolled in a coursework degree in the Faculty of Science. The scholarship is awarded on academic merit and preference is given to students who demonstrate equity considerations through the UAC Equity Scholarship application process. These include carer responsibilities, long-term medical conditions or disability, living in regional or remote areas of Australia, identifying as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, or having refugee and humanitarian status. The scholarship is tenable for one year only and is available to both commencing and current students who have an unconditional offer of full-time admission or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in the Faculty of Science. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 for any coursework units of study to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship value is paid in two instalments after the census date of each semester.
