About This Opportunity

The G.S. Magnusons fond provides scholarships and research grants specifically for mathematics researchers in Sweden. The fund supports doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who are active and employed at Swedish higher education institutions or other public research principals. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, with consideration for parental leave and other deductible time. The funding can be used for various purposes including project operating costs, expenses for international research stays, or conference travel where applicants present their own research results. Research grants of 250,000 Swedish kronor and above are awarded and disbursed to the grant administrator (the institution), with up to 25 percent permitted for overhead costs. Scholarships of up to 250,000 Swedish kronor may be awarded and paid directly to the applicant. For 2025, the total available funding is 3,500,000 Swedish kronor.
