About This Opportunity

University of Gothenburg's Student Fund provides grants to students to develop social student life at the university. The fund was established in spring 2023 by the former rector Eva Wiberg in collaboration with Carl Bennet AB. The purpose is to provide better conditions for successful studies, contribute to good student health, strengthen university-wide cohesion between different student groups, create community across educational areas, and increase the attractiveness of both the university and the city of Gothenburg. Students, student associations, and student unions can apply for funding to implement or develop social student activities. The fund supports activities that welcome and include international students, develop student traditions, promote health (such as sports tournaments), stimulate student engagement in community-building activities, and social gatherings that promote friendship and community. In 2025, 46 applications were approved with a total of approximately 480,000 SEK distributed, with recipients receiving between 1,000-30,000 SEK for their events.
