About this opportunity
The Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge is offering two fully funded PhD studentships for students beginning in October 2026. The 3.5 year studentships offer two rotation placements and then a three year PhD project in a lab in the Department of Haematology. Cambridge is one of the best places in the World to study haematology. The Department has outstanding strength in normal and malignant haematopoiesis, transfusion medicine and structural biology. Current world leading research includes clonal haematopoiesis, acute myeloid leukaemia, malignant lymphoma, in vitro production of blood products, single cell sequencing technologies, functional genomic screening and cryo-electron microscopy. The studentships will cover all University and College fees for home students, and provide a stipend rate in line with the standard UKRI rate (currently £20,780 per year). It also provides £24,000 to cover justified research expenses, consumables and conference attendance.
