About this opportunity
The Hal Newman Memorial Music Scholarship was established by the Newman family in memory of their son, Hal, who passed away in a tragic accident in 1991. Before that, Hal attended Wenatchee High School, was a member of the National Honors Society and was an outstanding music student. He sang tenor in the Chamber Singers group and had starring roles in several musical productions. This scholarship supports a graduating senior from Wenatchee High School, with special emphasis on a student who is majoring in the field of vocal or instrumental music. The scholarship recognizes and supports students who demonstrate a combination of financial need, scholastic accomplishments, and musical ability as they pursue higher education in music-related fields.
