About This Opportunity
The Halyna Chomiak Freeland Memorial Award is awarded to student(s) with satisfactory academic standing entering any year of a Juris Doctor degree. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership and/or community involvement. The award gives preference to student(s) with contributions (within the University and/or via extra-curricular involvement) to Ukraine or in the diaspora, and/or the advancement of women's rights. Special consideration is given to applicant(s) who demonstrate they have overcome obstacles, whether financial or otherwise. This endowed award was established by the family of Halyna Chomiak Freeland to honor her memory and support law students who exemplify leadership and community engagement.
