About This Opportunity

The Hamza Mustafa Memorial Bursary is awarded to Bachelor of Veterinary Science students at Massey University who are experiencing financial need. This bursary was established in memory of Hamza Mustafa, a 16-year-old student who died in the Christchurch mosque shootings on 15 March 2019. Hamza's ambition was to study veterinary science and work in the veterinary field. The bursary was made possible through fundraising efforts by the School of Veterinary Science staff, with major contributions from the VetNZ group and other corporate and individual sponsors from New Zealand and overseas. The bursary seeks to support students who value inclusivity in the veterinary profession and who are facing financial hardship. Recipients must be enrolled in either the pre-selection or professional phase of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Massey University.
