About This Opportunity

The Hancock Family realizes that the Middle Georgia community will thrive and grow if more of the talented students in future generations decide to continue their education and build their careers in this community. This scholarship fund is designed to encourage these students to take advantage of the exceptional institutions of higher education in the Middle Georgia to further their education and to, hopefully, decide to remain in the Middle Georgia area as they begin their careers. The purpose of the fund is to provide college scholarships to graduating seniors from a home-school, public or charter high school in Bibb County who will attend a public or private university, college, or accredited technical college in Middle Georgia. Eligible schools currently include Central Georgia Technical College, Fort Valley State University, Georgia College & State University, Georgia Military College, Mercer University, Middle Georgia State University, and Wesleyan College. Recipients may renew the award for up to four years if they maintain eligibility criteria including a minimum 3.0 GPA. At least one new recipient is selected annually, with four total recipients per year.
