Hands-on Graduate Grants

These grants are for MA or Ph.D. students of History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and are designed to support a graduate student's desire to learn by doing. Fundable activities include archaeological or architectural field schools, GIS courses, curatorial experiences, or workshops in film or digital media. Grants can be used toward tuition, travel, and housing expenses related to these hands-on learning experiences. The program aims to enable graduate students in History to gain practical skills and experiential learning opportunities that advance their larger scholarly or academic aims.
