About this opportunity
The Harry B. Rowell, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the legacy of Harry B. Rowell, Jr., a 1959 Crawford County High School graduate who exemplified work ethic, determination, achievement, and moral character. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master's degree in Computer Science, Harry had a distinguished career in higher education and corporate leadership, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hubbell Incorporated.
This scholarship supports graduating seniors from Crawford County High School who are pursuing bachelor's degrees at four-year colleges or universities. The scholarship provides $500 per year and can be renewed for up to four years for students who maintain eligibility criteria and complete required follow-ups. One new recipient is selected annually, with up to four concurrent awards possible.
Applicants are evaluated based on academic merit and achievement, outstanding leadership and citizenship, and demonstrated service to others. Students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be accepted to an accredited four-year institution, and plan to enroll as a full-time student. The scholarship requires submission of a letter of recommendation from a teacher as part of the application process.
