About this opportunity
The Harry Cureton Fund offers grants of up to £20,000 to support healthcare in Peterborough and the area covered by Peterborough and Stamford hospitals (postcodes PE1 – PE11). The fund supports both individuals requiring medical equipment and organisations who carry out healthcare activities. Applications are invited for both capital and revenue costs covering preservation and promotion of good health, provision of palliative care, research into causes and treatment of illness, and relief and treatment of physical and mental illness.
For individuals, applications should be made by an occupational therapist or other medical professional and can cover equipment or small home adaptations to help with disabilities. For organisations, preference is given to grants where matching funds are available and activities that benefit the greatest number of people. The fund exists due to the generosity of the late Harry Cureton, who lived in Eye near Peterborough and donated a large lottery win to help local people.
Grants will not be made for activities relating to Directed Enhanced Services, activities that could be paid for by NHS or other sources, where grants result in financial benefit to individuals through property improvements, or to cover expenditure already incurred. Grants may be either single grants or rolling grants, and conditions may be attached including public acknowledgement of the award.
