About this opportunity
The Harry Perkins Memorial Scholarship has been developed by Curtin University to support students who are required to relocate from a regional or remote area to commence an undergraduate degree at Curtin University. The Scholarship is for those who are from a low socio-economic background and are experiencing financial hardship. The Scholarship recognises Harry Perkins, the Chancellor of Curtin University from 1996-2002, who played a key role in forging international and local business and government partnerships. Harry Perkins' distinguished career spanned from farming in Bruce Rock, Western Australia, to chairing Wesfarmers, and included board positions with medical and educational institutions. The scholarship provides a cash stipend of $2,000 per semester for the expected duration of the undergraduate degree (based on full-time study). Recipients must maintain minimum enrollment of 25 credits and a course weighted average of at least 50 each study period. The scholarship aims to support students in overcoming financial barriers to accessing tertiary education.
