Hatch Engineering Merit Scholarship

The Hatch Engineering Merit Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving domestic students currently enrolled in engineering programs at The University of Queensland. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence and provides financial support to undergraduate and honours students who have completed between 28 and 40 units of their Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or dual/combined engineering programs. Established in 2022 through an annual gift from Hatch, this scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, leadership potential, community service, and qualities that indicate future success in the engineering profession. Three scholarships are awarded annually, each valued at $12,000 for a duration of one year. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in approved engineering programs at UQ and must not hold another similar scholarship as determined by the Associate Dean. Selection is based on academic performance, personal qualities including leadership and community engagement, and other factors relevant to success in engineering. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.
