About this opportunity
The Hawarden & District Relief in Need Fund (Organisations) aims to help groups supporting vulnerable people who reside in the ancient parish of Hawarden. Funding has been used to buy equipment and provide activities for Hawarden-based community groups/charities working with vulnerable people in need. The fund supports purchase of items essential to alleviating the suffering of food and fuel poverty (e.g. food parcels, blankets, hot water bottles, thermals, boiler repairs). It provides support for luncheon clubs, food co-ops, activities that promote community cohesion, reduce isolation and alleviate poverty. The fund also covers core costs for organisations working with vulnerable people in the stipulated Hawarden areas. Organisations can apply for grants up to £2,000 a year, and those applying for a community project can apply for multiple year funding. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate exactly how they will meet the Fund's objectives and priorities, and who have not previously received support from this Fund.
