Hay and Backman Supply Chain and Logistics Scholarship

The Hay and Backman Supply Chain and Logistics Scholarship provides financial assistance for supply chain and logistics students who have relevant industry experience. This scholarship is made possible by a generous donation from Mrs. Christine Hay, in memory of her husband, David Hay who passed away in 2011. David was an active participant and contributor to the logistics industry for over 50 years and was committed to education throughout his career. The scholarship serves the purpose of supporting and encouraging others to maximise their potential in the supply chain and logistics industry. In 2023, Christine renamed the scholarship to also honour Ivan Backman who was instrumental in the initial establishment of the scholarship and contributed significantly to the logistics industry during his career. Recipients are required to engage in a RMIT facilitated career mentoring program.
