He Raranga Muka - Data Analytics Scholarships

He Raranga Muka Scholarships were established by Te Kāhui Raraunga to support the development of Māori voices and perspectives within the field of data science. The program aims to enable the next generation of Iwi Māori data scientists to weave their data science skills (pūkenga raraunga) with their Māoritanga, creating new opportunities for themselves, their whānau, hapū and iwi. Each scholarship is valued at up to $5,000 NZD and is available to students studying in the data science field or other relevant degrees at registered tertiary institutions in New Zealand in 2025. Applicants must whakapapa Māori (have Māori ancestry), be endorsed by their iwi, and provide two references which can be personal, academic or professional.
