About this opportunity
The Health Equity Fund provides grants to address avoidable, unfair, and systematic differences in health between different groups of people, with a specific focus on ethnic minority groups in Buckinghamshire. The fund supports projects that reduce health inequalities related to physical health, mental health, or both, for any age group. Projects can include improved culturally relevant information and support for healthy lifestyles, programmes to manage higher risk conditions for ethnic minority groups, health and wellbeing education or awareness raising projects, support for the empowerment of women and girls, improved cultural awareness for health service providers, and advocacy support to access health and wellbeing services. The fund encourages innovative and creative ideas designed and delivered primarily for ethnic minority groups or in settings where the activity would produce significant benefit to these groups. Priority is given to applications led by people from ethnic minority backgrounds, those involving ethnic minority groups in project design and delivery, projects demonstrating collaboration with partners, and those focused on areas of highest disadvantage in Buckinghamshire including Aylesbury, High Wycombe, and Chesham.
