About This Opportunity

The Heilbronn Research Fellowships are 3-year postdoctoral positions offering the opportunity to pursue personal research in pure mathematics, data science, or quantum information while working on classified research projects that help keep the UK safe. Fellows divide their time equally between their own research and the classified research programme of the Heilbronn Institute. Research areas of interest include Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics, Data Science, Number Theory, Probability, and Quantum Information. Fellows have previously been appointed with backgrounds in Pure Mathematics, Data Science and Statistics, Quantum Information and Mathematical/Theoretical Physics. The fellowships provide training and development opportunities tailored to career ambitions, research needs and personal development requirements. Appointments are made at partner universities including the University of Bristol, Imperial College London, King's College London, and The University of Manchester. The program emphasizes teamwork and provides a supportive and encouraging collaborative environment for working on varied and fascinating real-world mathematical problems.
