About this opportunity

This is a regional grant program for Heiplanen (the Mountain Plateau Plan) funded by the Norwegian Environment Agency and the county municipalities of Telemark, Agder, Rogaland, and Vestland. The program supports community and business development around wild reindeer mountains with a focus on vibrant and attractive villages and settlements. The purpose is to facilitate activities and experiences that communicate the natural and cultural heritage linked to wild reindeer mountains and that align with the unique character of the villages and settlements. These activities and experiences should strengthen the villages and settlements as places to live, work, and visit. The program is anchored in the action plan of Heiplanen for the period 2024-2027, specifically within the community and business development priority area. Applicants can apply for economic support to implement physical measures or to plan activities and experiences in accordance with the program's purpose.

Review process

Applications are processed and decided by the Heiplanen Secretariat. First checkpoint is whether the project conflicts with wild reindeer habitats and consideration zones. If not in conflict, applications are evaluated based on anchoring in Heiplanen, contribution to community development, contribution to business development, sustainability, communication of natural and cultural heritage, and implementation capacity.
