About This Opportunity

The Henderson Bursaries and Scholarships are generously funded by Birmingham City University graduate and Slack co-founder Cal Henderson and his wife Rebecca through the Henderson Family Foundation. These awards are designed to support UK students pursuing undergraduate degrees in Computing, Engineering or Built Environment subjects at Birmingham City University. The program offers two types of awards: Henderson Scholarships worth £10,000 per year over three years (totaling £30,000), and one-off Henderson Access Bursaries of £2,000. The funding is specifically prioritized for students from under-represented groups and those from low socio-economic backgrounds, including students from families with household incomes of £25,000 or less and/or those eligible for free school meals. The scholarships particularly encourage applications from women and ethnic minority groups who are under-represented in Computing, Engineering and Technology subjects. Recipients must be enrolled full-time on eligible courses starting in September 2026.
