About this opportunity
The Herbert A. and Charles E. Kester Scholarship Fund was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation by Kevin and Tracy Walsh to honor the memory of their dear friend Charles Kester and his father Herbert by providing funds for students who will be attending The University of Pittsburgh and will be pursuing a degree or studies in Education. Both Herbert and Charles strongly believed in giving back and helping others when they could, and this scholarship continues their legacy. The scholarship is a multi-year award that can provide support for up to 4 years. Recipients must maintain enrollment and major requirements throughout the award period. Preference is given to students from Allegheny, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties of Pennsylvania who demonstrate financial need.
