About This Opportunity

The Herbert and Valmae Freilich Indigenous Scholarship provides financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Sydney. Established in 2006 following gifts by Herbert and Valmae Freilich, this scholarship is designed to support Indigenous students committed to Indigenous health and welfare. The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per annum and is tenable for four years, providing a total of $20,000 over the duration of the MD program. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is awarded based on evidence of financial need, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity, and academic merit.
