Herman och Sigrid Nyléns stiftelse provides financial support to ship commanders and navigators who are in need of temporary assistance due to illness, unemployment, high housing costs, or other reasons. The foundation also provides grants to retired ship officers, survivors of ship officers, and students at maritime colleges (both nautical and technical) who have strained finances for various reasons. This is a Swedish foundation that offers financial relief to those in the maritime profession and maritime education who face economic hardship. Applications must be submitted by October 1st annually.
