About this opportunity
The Heseltine Ecology Bursary is a postgraduate scholarship for students undertaking research in conservation biology, ecology, or zoology at Massey University. The bursary provides up to $6,000 NZD for one year of full-time study at the Manawatū campus. The funds were originally donated by Massey University staff, Dr Ian Stringer and Associate Professor Alastair Robertson, from conservation-related contracts they held. In 2019, the Heseltine Trust provided an additional $75,000 to the corpus of the fund, and the scholarship was renamed the Heseltine Ecology Bursary. Recipients are selected based on their academic achievements and the quality of their proposed research project. The scholarship is intended to support high-achieving students conducting postgraduate research in ecology and conservation-related fields.
