About this opportunity
Hetty's Hardship Fund is designed to support Kinship Carers who have taken on parental responsibility for their grandchildren, nieces or nephews as a result of them being removed from birth parents via Social Care. The fund provides financial assistance to families in extreme hardship across four districts of North Nottinghamshire: Mansfield, Ashfield, Bassetlaw and Newark & Sherwood.
Individuals and families in extreme financial hardship can receive up to £100 per child from the fund to help with essential needs. The fund aims to support kinship carers during difficult times when they face financial challenges while caring for children who have been removed from their birth parents.
Eligible expenses include children's clothes and equipment, house move essentials, education essentials for children such as computers, and travel to funerals. All applications must be completed by an approved Hetty's Support Worker, ensuring that applications are properly vetted and that funds reach those most in need.
