About this opportunity
The High Sheriffs' Fund assists projects that promote a safer society and help reduce crime in Lincolnshire. Not for profit community groups delivering services that benefit people living in Lincolnshire can apply for grants of up to £5,000 provided they address community safety and crime reduction initiatives. Successful applications have included inter-generational activities, social cohesion and community engagement projects, and diversionary youth activities.
The fund prioritizes locally run and managed voluntary or community organisations in Lincolnshire (excluding North and North East Lincolnshire). Eligible activities include projects for young people such as diversionary activities and projects that raise aspirations or reduce isolation; intergenerational activities that reduce fear of crime and promote community cohesion; and activities for older people that tackle isolation and loneliness.
The fund can provide support for running costs, equipment, travel, venue hire, telephone, stationery, refreshments, volunteer training and activities that meet an identified need. The aim is to create a safer, more integrated society. The fund distributes around £15,000 annually with grants averaging £2,000. Applications are accepted twice yearly with closing dates on 1 March and 1 September if funds allow.
