About This Opportunity

The HSI:ELPSE program supports Hispanic Serving Institutions to enhance the quality of undergraduate STEM education and increase recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of students pursuing associates or baccalaureate degrees in STEM. The program focuses on studying and improving student experiences in STEM courses, certificate and degree programs, academic departments, and schools/colleges. Projects should be purposefully designed to meet students where they are, accounting for both their assets and challenges, using institutional data to identify equity gaps and unpack factors that shape students' individual realities and shared experiences. The solicitation includes two tracks: Implementation and Evaluation Projects (IEP) with two funding levels, and Educational Instrumentation (EI) to increase access to computing resources and laboratory instrumentation. Projects should employ an intersectional lens that acknowledges and accounts for the intersection of student characteristics and experiences.
