About This Opportunity

The HJ Cowan Architectural Science Scholarship offers a supplementary stipend to support postgraduate research studies in architectural science at the University of Sydney's School of Architecture, Design and Planning. This scholarship was established in 2010 from a donation by Mrs Renate Cowan, Dr Judith Cowan and Mr David Hartstein in memory of Professor Henry Jacob 'Jack' Cowan, who committed a significant part of his life to ensuring the success of architecture at the University of Sydney. The scholarship provides an annual stipend supplementary allowance of $2,500 per year for up to three years to full-time PhD research students. Recipients must already be receiving a primary Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship or equivalent from the University of Sydney that provides a stipend allowance. Professor Cowan dedicated over 50 years to architectural science, inspiring many students, fellow academics, teachers and researchers worldwide. This scholarship honors his legacy by supporting the next generation of architectural science researchers.
