Hope Brown Nelson Education Student Teaching Scholarship

The Hope Brown Nelson Education Student Teaching Scholarship supports Elementary Education seniors at Eastern Illinois University who are entering their student teaching semester. The scholarship requires recipients to maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students who graduated from Mattoon High School, or alternatively, from any high school within Illinois. Recipients must submit a one-page essay describing their goals for their student teaching semester and career aspirations. This scholarship recognizes and provides financial support to aspiring teachers during their critical student teaching experience. The award amount varies and may be announced in the Spring semester with the funds disbursed in the Fall semester.
