About this opportunity
The Household Support Fund helps vulnerable households cope with the rising cost of living through fuel grants as well as grants for essential household appliances, such as cookers and washing machines. The fund is administered on behalf of Herefordshire Council with funding from the Department of Work & Pensions. Applications must be made by a referral organisation or care professional such as Citizens Advice Bureau, local food bank, social worker, debt advisor or employment coach on behalf of individuals or families in need. Payments are made directly to utility companies or via pre-paid meters, and white goods are purchased directly from the provider. The fund is open to all Herefordshire households, with beneficiaries eligible to receive a grant once every 12 months. The average grant award in 2024-25 was £480.
