Household Support Fund (Food)

The Household Support Fund (Food) is provided by the UK Government to deliver support to people living in County Durham who are struggling to afford household essentials, specifically food costs. At Point North, this fund provides food support through digital vouchers issued via Evouchers to use in supermarkets. The fund is designed to help County Durham's most vulnerable households during times of financial hardship. Anyone aged 18 or over who is living in the Durham County Council area and is struggling to afford everyday essentials or in need of crisis support can apply. Applicants must be liable for Council Tax at the property they are living in, which could be covered by Universal Credit. Support professionals can also apply on behalf of individuals who need assistance completing the application form. If successful, applicants receive a digital supermarket voucher. Applications are decided within three weeks of submission.
