About this opportunity
The Howton Solar Farm Fund supports community projects in the areas of Pillaton, Landrake & St Erney, St Mellion, St Dominick and Saltash. Projects with an educational element or awareness of reducing their carbon footprint may be given priority. All involved with Howton Solar Farm strongly believe that local communities should benefit from the solar farm and the fund has been made available to support good causes local to the site, for every year of the solar farm's working life. The fund supports structural one-off costs such as refurbishments (including wages for these to be carried out) and one-off equipment costs. Since 2013 the fund has awarded more than £325,000. Cornwall Community Foundation administers the fund on behalf of operator Lightsource, and a panel of local people meet twice a year to consider applications.
