About this opportunity
The HPC Community Fund Small Grants programme supports local communities living with the impacts and opportunities of Hinkley Point C (HPC), one of Somerset's biggest developments. Building work started in 2017 and continues until at least 2027, creating both new opportunities and quality of life impacts for people living nearby, particularly in Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and surrounding villages. This fund supports community groups working in these affected areas to improve community wellbeing and quality of life through projects, building refurbishments, or equipment purchases. The fund is open year-round with six deadlines per year, and typically supports about 2 out of every 3 applications, distributing around £200,000 annually. Applications are assessed by Somerset Community Foundation staff and final decisions are made by a panel including representatives from SCF, Somerset Council, EDF, and independent community members.
