HSA Small Research Grant

The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA) Small Research Grant supports research projects focused on the humane treatment of all animals kept for food or other products during transport, marketing, slaughter, and killing for welfare reasons and disease control. This grant provides funding up to £5,000 for research projects where animal welfare is the main focus. The HSA specifically supports projects that clearly demonstrate animal welfare benefits, rather than projects primarily focused on non-welfare parameters such as animal production or meat quality improvement. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but must be submitted at least two months before the project start date to be eligible for funding.
