About this opportunity
The Huawei TECH4HER Scholarship Programme aims to address the shortage of women in STEM2D careers in Ireland and increase undergraduate women pursuing degrees in these fields. This scholarship is offered through a partnership between Huawei and University College Cork (UCC). Huawei is a global telecommunications company with operations in Ireland since 2004, now with bases in Dublin, Cork, and Athlone. The scholarship is open to competition annually among registered female BSc Computer Science and BSc Data Science and Analytics undergraduates who have completed the 1st year of their degree and who have achieved a mark of at least 60% at the first attempt. Special consideration is given to supporting female undergraduate students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those catered for by the UCC PLUS+ Programme. Applications are assessed by at least two members of the schools Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Committee, and interviews may be conducted if there are more eligible students than awards available.
