About this opportunity
The Hugh Hughes Scholarship supports students studying the combined Master of Veterinary Studies and Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies at the University of Sydney. The Sydney School of Veterinary Science offers this three-year combined Masters degree to provide advanced clinical training and research for qualified veterinarians in a specified veterinary area. This scholarship is offered to the most outstanding applicants across the disciplines accepted into this clinical residency program.
The scholarship provides a stipend allowance of $54,000 per annum, paid every two weeks and indexed at $500 per annum on January 1st. Recipients also receive an educational allowance of up to $2,000 per annum, reimbursed against receipted claims. Academic course fees for this program at the Commonwealth Support Place (CSP) student contribution amount rate are also covered for up to six semesters, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the student's residency for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Recipients must maintain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 for any coursework component. Progression is assessed every six months and is subject to passing the annual progress review.
No application is required, as all eligible students will be automatically considered. The scholarship is awarded to candidates who have been accepted for admission to the program on nomination of the relevant research supervisor in the Sydney School of Veterinary Science.
