About this opportunity
The Hugh M. and Julia G. Hadley Scholarship Fund honors the memory of Hugh M. and Julia G. Hadley, lifelong volunteers and community members in Columbus, Ohio. Julia Gardiner Hadley was a graduate of Columbus School for Girls and The Ohio State University with a degree in English literature, and was actively involved in numerous organizations including the Columbus Museum of Art, COSI, Goodwill Service Board, Franklin Park Conservatory Women's Board, and Thurber House. Hugh M. Hadley was a Harvard College graduate, retired senior vice president and director of McElroy-Minster Co., and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in WWII.
This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from public high schools in Franklin County, Ohio who demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum 3.5 GPA. The scholarship provides $10,000 payable over four years to support students attending four-year accredited colleges or universities full-time in the United States. Awards are made every four years, with the next application cycle opening in January 2028.
Candidates must be residents of Franklin County, Ohio and plan to pursue higher education at a four-year institution within the United States. The scholarship celebrates the Hadleys' commitment to education and community service.
