Hugh MacKinnon Graduate Scholarship

The Hugh MacKinnon Graduate Scholarship is awarded annually to graduate students registered in the Department of History at the University of Waterloo. This entrance award recognizes both academic excellence and broader contributions to the community. A committee within the Department of History selects recipients based on academic achievement and criteria such as community service and work experience. The scholarship is valued at $1,200 and is available to both master's and doctoral students. Students are automatically selected by the Faculty/Department, meaning no separate application is required. The award is distributed during the Fall term and is open to both Canadian/permanent resident students and international students with study permits.
