About this opportunity
The Ian Alexander Gordon Scholarship was established to honour the life of Dr Ian Gordon who passed away in 2012 and was awarded for the first time in 2015. Dr Gordon was appointed President of the newly created Council of the State College of Victoria at Ballarat in 1973 and played a pivotal role in the merger that established the Ballarat College of Advanced Education. He served as President until December 1993, on the eve of the creation of the University of Ballarat, and was the only person to remain a member of the Council for its entire existence. The scholarship provides $7,000 to support domestic students commencing their studies at Federation University Australia in Ballarat. This foundation scholarship is available to new students pursuing bachelor, honours, or postgraduate degrees in higher education, recognizing academic merit and supporting students in their educational journey at the university.
