About this opportunity
The Ian Pollard Organ Scholarship is designed to support talented undergraduate or postgraduate students of the organ at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship was established in 2009 through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation from a bequest from the estate of Mr. Ian Pollard. The award provides approximately $3,000 per year to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who are studying the organ at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. Selection is based on academic merit. If the selection panel determines that no suitable recipient exists in a particular year, funds may be provided for a visiting fellow in organ whose work enhances the preservation of performance, training and/or development of organ music at the New Zealand School of Music. Recipients are expected to demonstrate engagement and contribute to the community and environment of the New Zealand School of Music, including participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances at NZSM or university events.
