About This Opportunity

Stephen and Nancy Van Heyde established this fund in memory of their son, Ian. Ian was a senior at Whetstone High School and a distinguished student in culinary arts at Northeast Career Center. The purpose of the fund is to preserve the memory of Ian, an ever-smiling teenager, and to perpetuate his reputation for helping others. As he was intensely interested in a career in culinary arts, the scholarship fund awards scholarships to students pursuing postsecondary studies in the culinary arts, food management, or restaurant management. The scholarship supports graduating students or graduates from culinary arts programs operated by public school systems in central Ohio, specifically Franklin and contiguous counties and Knox County in Ohio. Recipients must be pursuing post-secondary education in culinary arts (including pastry and baking), restaurant management, or food management at an educational institution in the U.S.
